Title: Muhammad Rashaad Salim
Short Discription: Shaikh Muhammad Rashaad ibn Muhammad Rafeeq Salim was born in Cairo in 1347 A.H. He received his primary and secondary education in Cairo schools, and studied at Philosophy Department, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University and had a Master’s from it. For a year, he stayed in Damascus, Syria to study the manuscripts of Adh-Dhahiriyyah Library and could photocopied most of Shaikh Al-Islam Ibn Taimiyah’s manuscripts. In 1379 A.H., he had a Ph.D. from University of Cambridge, England. His research is entitled: “Reasoning’s Harmony with Islamic legislation according to Ibn Taimiyah” He taught at Ain Shams University, Cairo. In 1391 A.H., he was transferred to teach at King So’oud University in Riyad and founded the Islamic Culture Department. He is the first president of it. He took the Saudi nationality in 1396 A.H. and worked as a professor in Usul Ad-Deen Faculty, Islamic University of Imam Muhammad ibn So’oud. He supervised a lot of Ph.D. and Master’s researches and gave a lot of speeches. He received King Faisal’s International Award of Islamic Studies in 1405 A.H. He wrote “An Introduction to the Islamic Culture” and “A Comparison between Al-Ghazali and Ibn Taimiyah.” He verifies many books as “Minhaaj As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah” and “Al-Istiqamah” both of Ibn Taimiyah. He died (may Allah have mercy on him) in 9/4/1407 A.D.
